Hey sorry for the delay, a skype interview is more difficult since my English is very bad haha! And what drives me is to think that life is giving me a new opportunity every time I am alive, there is no other factor that makes me go ahead in thinking that I and my loved ones are well.

Lo que me hace seguir es que el universo me regala la oportunidad de estar viva cada día para de alguna manera seguir aportando lo que sé en mi comunidad y impulsando a futuras Bgirls  yo tengo 9años en la escena y tengo un crew de Bgirls "Motha Funk Girls" desde el 2009

"Fresh !!!"  Y como son tu Dias  cuando estas Breakin' ?  Para muchos el baile es centro en la vida de uno. Como haces el balance ?

Soul B:
Los días son especiales por que de todo y de todos se aprende, llega una edad en la que tenemos que ser más responsables con nuestras vidas y la manera de balancearlo es vivir para darle vida al Breaking, alimentarnos a través de experiencias y aprendizajes para darle alimento a nuestro baile, tratar de ser personas auténticas y ver la manera de que puedes aportar con ello para darle una identidad, no creo que Breaking sea el centro de la vida sino la vida es el centro del Breaking

Por que tienes que tratar de ser mejor persona cada día para aportar algo al mundo
Hip Hop y Breaking son unas buenas razónes para mejorar en todos los aspectos de tu vida.

Hey saludos si hubo muchos afectados pero a los que no pasó nada en nuestras casas estamos ayudando en lo que se pueda a quienes no corrieron con la misma suerte pero aquí estamos siempre fuertes 💪

What fuels your pursuit to keep going with this dance ?

​Hey Rival sorry about getting back to you so late but I'll answer the question above.

Varies things fuels me but what lays heavy is how embedded breaking is in my life and lifestyle. I can take break (if need) yet don't stay away for so long. Even after all this time, that urge to get down, practice & compete still lives within me.

Oh nd.  How long have you been dancing ? More specifically breakin? 

What are some challenges you go thru ?

Lacuna :
I've been bgirling for 12 yrs now. 
Some challenges I faced was feeling like I needed to keep up which would only frustrate things. I stopped having fun and letting things flow. Now I pace myself, I create more to let stuff fall into place.
Also.. being injured and having to actually stop dancing so I can heal up
Once healed up I felt like crap cause it seemed I had to start all over to get back in the groove of things. Sorry for my responses being gapped I'm at work lol

Again I really reach out to get to know more  about you and of others in our community especially people I have seen in our scene and also others I may not know. nd , thank you. Well I have never talkd to you before( meaning to get to know more about BGIRL BBOY scene. As time passed you stood with the dance, and then thru the brief encounters and greets and viewing  you IG. At first what grabbed my attention was that you began to blog and express your self thru there.  I did not really read thru all of it but knowing you keep it up it fresh. then also just looking at your journey thru pictures has intreged me to know more about you.

​Yes I'll definitely ask my dad what time works!

I would say the biggest reason for anyone to continue with their craft is because they genuinely enjoy doing it and it is fun. So for me too, I really really enjoy dancing (whether it's alone, in class, in battles, I just love it). However, I am coming to a point in my career where I actually have built a platform so there are more people who see me. That being said, I am also fueled by wanting to inspire others. I still cannot believe that

​​I have what it takes to inspire others!

And I don't just want to simply inspire others, but I want them to know that anything can be done no matter your age, race, where you are from. For example:

- I come from the breaking scene but excel in choreography too

- I am part of this generation that is used to eating meet but I am vegan

- I continue to pursue dance as an Asian

​And forgot to mention that it can also be hard as a girl in the breaking scene, which is pretty male dominant

Wow , that's great , how long have you been dancing ? How do you balance the choreo life and bgirling ? Has being a vegan made you see changes you were unaware of ? What does it mean to continue pursue dance as an Asian I don't understand .

I have been dancing for 6 years

It can be tough sometimes to balance choreo and breaking at once. They are almost like two different worlds: choreo being so structured/subtle and breaking so free yet aggressive. To stay on both tips, I make sure to continuously drill power, create, and take class. However, if I have a certain project or event coming up, I have to focus on that one (whether a battle or a choreo competition) which is definitely a challenge when
​I want to focus on both aspects

​Being vegan has made me see many changes!😁 It has made me more aware as an individual, I feel lighter when I'm dancing, I have been able to adapt to a healthier lifestyle (mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually). Adding on to that, it has allowed me to gain a more positive perspective on everything. Which has motivated me even more to continue with dance.

And so sorry for not being specific!

So what I mean is in the dance industry (commercial stuff) they always want a certain look which is even more important than talent (in the entertainment industry). Being Asian is not necessarily easy in the commercial world but I'm continuously trying to break those boundaries and (tying back to my purpose) inspire others to do the same😊

​Word of course my name is Rival . I am from Jersey City NJ . I've been dancing for about 21 years in the NJ \ NYC area.  I am in NBK crew , Full Circle & Master Mind Rockers . I am the founder and owner of Bboy Bgirl Lifestyle . I created the idea and company under the idea displaying the journey we all go thru being able to include everyone of our community not only main stream dancers but to display our entire global community .
Within the last  few years I have been a Board member of the first ever  Professional Bboy Bgirl Association named  the United Breakin Association (UBA)

​Well it was amazing,  Marseille is a beautiful city and i have some Friends there, we trained hard and had fun

There are some spaces to dance, i was in la Joliette its a salle where b-boys train, and then in st.Charles its the train station

And there are all Kind of dancers, Poppers, freestylers and b-boys

I moved two years ago for my studies
I stayed for one year

How often are you practicing /getting down / breakin ?

Well it depends on the day, but now im following a rutine, i started with capoeira weeks ago, so first i warm up with capoeira moves, then scretching, then i do some rounds, powermove and freeze practice

And finally some rounds again
Because now im a little bit focused on powermove..but its so hard hahaha
Then there are days i training my creativity
And when we train house, we just flow with the music, warm Up with capoeira + House basics
And then rounds, and then rounds with exercices
But there is always something new to put on Trainings
Basically we try to express what we have inside, and we inspire ourselves with nature and what we see, what we feel and what we lived

With its inception in 2014, The Silverback Open Championship along with UDEF - Pro Breaking Tour, and the multitude of individuals and organizations that help create the movement / experience continue to add to the ever growing platform in which our dance and its community coexist. As a practitioner in our dance jumping into this cypher , circle, environment is the only way to understand what is going on. From the setting of the event, to viewing the many individuals that support and pursue the BBOY BGIRL LIFESTYLE, ( not to mention actually dancing and acknowledging the skill level of everyone ) the experience is better off embraced first hand. The common opportunity for the event is to figure out a solution to the slippery floor due to the humidity. However, for a practitioner of this dance this creates another type of surface to learn how to do our dance on.  Thank you all for making it happen, from an organizational stand point to our dance community participants .
