    Brooklyn, NY native, Irs was the offspring of a Guyanese, South Asian Indian,   Native Colombian mother and a Native Colombian father. The youngest of three, he and his two brothers lived fatherless. In the early 90’s, he moved to New Jerusalem (NJ) , where he still resides. As a child, his family had introduced him to music, which allowed him to experience the art of many eras and styles. Music became his drug growing up. Slowly, his drug became a tool to voice himself and surrounding issues that concerned all.

Developing this weapon, he  learned about writing rhymes/poems, DJ’ing and producing.  DJIRS produced for artists such as Silent Knight, Baron "RedClay", Adam “ShadoKat” Bowser, Sirah. M.Josephine, Neila, Big Mike (HBO Def Poet), Gemineye (HBO Def Poet), FlowMentalz (HBO Def Poet), Slate Stone, Protégé of Phenetiks and many others. DJ’ing on the open mic scene, he quickly became the house DJ for the popular showcases Hip Hop Meets Poetry, Cypha Saturdays, Culture Shock, as well as The New Jersey Youth S.L.A.M. Team, Slam Global Enterprises and many more.

While becoming well known in the hip hop underground scene, he also became known as “The Poets DJ.” These opportunities developed a relationship with some of the most talked about indie artists. His debut album as a producer, "For Those Listening"is a blend of artistic worlds that have molded  who he is today. In March, 2011, Irs released the album "Raw Talent", with HBO Def Poet Gemineye.  This album was nominated The Best Spoken Word Album Of The Year for 2011 by The NPA (National Poetry Awards).  Followed by another album , "Urbanites In Flights", with singer/song writer, Orikl As-Salaam.
In 2013, DJIRS dropped the traditional "DJ" title and took on the title "Devi8tor" when joining Cloud9, the former DJ Of Wu-Tangs Clans Killarmy, in formulating Devi8tors. Aiming to keep art form of the true disc jockeys spirit within the hip hop culture relevant.
Current projects with John Robinson aka Lil Sci of Scienz Of Life, Big Mike of HBO Def Poetry, Protégé of Phenetiks, and a follow up to For Those Listening.
